Section 01
Transit
No parking, no surge, no traffic jams. Transit is how most Toronto locals get to BMO Field — and it works brilliantly when 45,000 fans are all going the same direction.
Step by step
- 1
Go to Union Station — enter the GO Concourse (lower level, follow the train icons)
- 2
Board any Lakeshore West train — they all stop at Exhibition
- 3
Exit at Exhibition GO Station (just 1 stop, ~6 minutes)
- 4
Walk 5 min west through Exhibition grounds following the blue BMO Field signs
Pro tip
Exhibition GO Station exits directly into Exhibition Place. This is the fastest, most reliable option — locals use it every match. If you're arriving from Pearson Airport, take the UP Express to Union then connect here.
Step by step
- 1
At Union Station, take the underground path down to the Queens Quay streetcar loop (follow 509/510 signs)
- 2
Board the 509 Harbourfront streetcar heading westbound
- 3
Ride 4 stops along the waterfront — get off at Strachan Ave
- 4
Walk south on Strachan Ave for 5 minutes — BMO Field gates are on your right
Pro tip
The 509 runs along Lake Ontario with beautiful water views. TTC adds extra streetcars on every match day. A PRESTO card makes boarding faster — tap and go, no need to wait for change.
Step by step
- 1
Take Line 2 (Bloor–Danforth, green line) to Bathurst Station
- 2
Exit the subway platform and transfer to the 511 Bathurst streetcar — free within 2 hours on PRESTO
- 3
Board the 511 southbound — ride to the final stop, Exhibition Loop
- 4
Walk 3 minutes west — BMO Field gates will be in front of you
Pro tip
Perfect if you're staying near the Annex, Little Italy, or anywhere on the Bloor–Danforth line. The 2-hour free transfer means your subway fare covers the streetcar too.
Step by step
- 1
Take Line 2 subway to Dufferin Station
- 2
Exit and transfer to the Route 29 Dufferin bus (southbound)
- 3
Ride to Exhibition Loop — the last stop
- 4
Walk 3 min west to BMO Field
Pro tip
Good if you're coming from Parkdale, Roncesvalles, or the Dufferin area. Free subway transfer applies on PRESTO within 2 hours.

Section 02
Car
Driving works — but know the rules before you go. Roads close, surge pricing hits hard, and parking fills early. Here's exactly what to expect.
Drop-off point
Set destination to "BMO Field, 170 Princes' Blvd, Toronto" in Uber, Lyft, or any app. The closest driver drop-off is Lake Shore Blvd W & Strachan Ave.
Road closures
Strachan Ave south of King St W closes ~2 hrs before kickoff. Lake Shore Blvd W near Exhibition closes 1 hr before. Drivers are automatically rerouted but expect +15 min.
Surge pricing — real talk
Post-match surge hits 2–4× base rates within minutes of the final whistle. A $15 ride home can become $50–70. This happens at every major stadium event in Toronto without exception.
The workaround
Walk 15 min north to Liberty Village (King St W & Hanna Ave) before requesting a pickup. Lower demand = lower surge. Or schedule a ride in advance with locked pricing via Uber Reserve.
Pro move: Book your post-match Uber pickup in the Uber app before kickoff. Uber Reserve locks the price — you won't pay surge even if you request it an hour after the final whistle.
Section 03
Walking
BMO Field sits right on the western waterfront — walkable from Liberty Village, Exhibition GO, and the lake. On a June match evening, several of these routes are genuinely memorable.

Stewarded routes
